UGC has promulgated the Regulations on minimum qualifications for appointment of teachers and other academic staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education, 2010 (hereinafter referred to as UGC Regulations, 2010) which have come in force w. e. f. 30.06.2010. In the said regulations, qualifications and other eligibility conditions for the teaching posts have been revised. Accordingly, the eligibility of the candidates for the posts of Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor shall now be determined as per the revised qualifications. NB: (i) UR-Unreserved SC-Scheduled Caste, ST-Schedule Tribe, PWD- Persons with Disability and OBC-Other Backward Classes, LV-Leave Vacancy, OH Orthopaedically handicapped, HI-Hearing Impairment, (ii) Leave vacancies are likely to be regular in due course.
