Department of Space is one of the prestigious Department of Government of India responsible for the development of Space Science, Space Technology and Space Applications, having unit set up in various places in India.

The Civil Engineering Programme Office (CEPO) at ISRO Headquarters Bangalore and Construction Maintenance Divisions (CMDs) located at Various ISRO Centres/Units are responsible for planning, design, construction and maintenance of all ground based structures buildings and associated utilities to cater to the Space Programme. CEPO and CMDs, consists of engineers of discipline in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration & Air Condition and also Architecture.
